Short answerEvery maid agency in Singapore needs an MOM licence. Search the agency's licence number in MOM's Employment Agency Directory to confirm it. Of 2,418 licences, about half placed no helpers in the past year, so check activity too.
Every employment agency that places domestic helpers in Singapore must hold a licence from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM). MOM publishes each licence in its Employment Agency Directory, including how many helper work passes the agency was involved in over the last 12 months.
What the MOM data shows
- 2,418 licences appear in the directory's helper (FDW) view.
- Between 11 Oct 2025 to 11 Oct 2026, they were involved in 118,641 helper work-pass approvals in total.
- 1,203 licences recorded zero placements in that period.
- 312 licences recorded 100 or more placements; 33 recorded 600 or more.
Our agency directory lists the 485 licences with 55+ placements in that period.
How to check an agency
- Note the licence number (format like 12C3456) from the agency's website or office.
- Search it in MOM's Employment Agency Directory and confirm the name matches.
- Ask the agency for its fees in writing before you commit.
Agencies may not use MOM's logo or imply MOM affiliation (new licence condition 6C, from 1 Oct 2026). A listing on this site is not an MOM endorsement.
