Common questions
Does a maid agency in Singapore need a licence?
Yes. An employment agency that places domestic helpers with employers in Singapore must hold a licence from MOM, and its staff must be registered. MOM says you should work only with licensed agencies and registered agency staff, as they meet its eligibility criteria and must follow its rules.
How do I check that agency staff are registered?
MOM says every registered agency staff member carries a registration card showing their name, registration number and the agency they work for. Check those details against MOM's Employment Agency Directory, which also lists the licensed agencies and the names and photos of registered staff.
Can I hire a helper without a maid agency?
Yes. MOM says you can apply for a helper's Work Permit on your own or through an employment agency. MOM charges SGD 35 when the application is submitted and SGD 35 when the permit is issued.

How we keep it honest
We show what MOM publishes, starting with each agency's licence number. We do not rank agencies on hidden factors, and we do not show helpers' names or photos.
We are not an agency. We never place or match helpers. When you enquire, your message goes straight to the agency you chose.
