Short answerFDW eService is MOM's online service for helper and confinement nanny work permits. Employers and employment agencies log in with Singpass, at any hour, to apply for, issue, renew, extend, cancel or reinstate a work permit. Sponsors and authorised family members can also act for the employer. For the work permit card itself, such as delivery status or a replacement card, MOM uses a separate service, WP Online.
MOM's full name for it is 'Work Permit transactions for domestic helpers and confinement nannies (FDW eService)'. This guide explains how to get in and what each part is for, using MOM's own eService pages, checked on 15 Oct 2026. Always start from mom.gov.sg. MOM says its officers will never ask you to transfer money or share bank log-in details by phone or email, and the ScamShield Helpline on 1799 can help if you are unsure.
How to log in
- Employers and sponsors choose 'For employer or sponsor' on MOM's FDW eService page and log in with their own Singpass. MOM's WP Online page says that if you are not the owner of the Singpass, you may not log in and act for the employer. If your helper wants her own Singpass, see the work permit guide.
- Family members can sign up on the same page to act for the employer. Once approved, MOM says they can check and pay the levy, apply for levy GIRO, waivers and refunds, pay levy penalties, get a short pass extension and renew a pass. The employer can still do all of these too.
- Employment agencies log in with Singpass under 'For employment agency'. Their staff need a WP Online account and the eService assigned to them in Corppass.
- Any device. MOM says FDW eService works on a phone, tablet or computer, in Chrome, Firefox or Safari. It is open 24 hours, except for maintenance every Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm.
What you can do, and how long it takes
MOM's own estimates for each transaction:
- Apply for a work permit: about 10 minutes. See applying for a maid work permit.
- Ask for the work permit to be issued: about 3 minutes.
- Renew a work permit: about 5 minutes. See renewing her work permit.
- Cancel a work permit: about 2 minutes. See cancelling a work permit.
- Extend an in-principle approval (IPA): about 2 minutes.
- Get a short work permit extension: about 2 minutes.
- Reinstate a work permit: about 2 minutes.
- Reprint her six-monthly medical examination (6ME) letter and check its status: about 1 minute. See her medical check-ups.
Other guides on this site explain steps that also happen in FDW eService: transferring a helper (asking the current employer's consent), checking her employment history and a confinement nanny's permit.
Paying fees
- Payment methods. MOM lists Visa, Mastercard and PayNow for employers, and GIRO for employment agencies only.
- PayNow QR. After you submit, choose PayNow to get a QR code, then scan it in your banking app before it expires. If it expires, MOM says you wait 30 minutes before making a new one. The amount cannot be changed.
- No refunds. MOM does not refund admin fees, except extra payments made because of MOM's error.
The levy has its own eService
Levy bills are in MOM's 'Check and pay foreign worker levy' eService. Employers of helpers log in with Singpass and do not need an account. There you can see current and past bills, apply for GIRO, pay by PayNow QR, and apply for waivers and refunds. MOM says you should pay the levy by GIRO. It is down for maintenance every Wednesday from 9pm to 10pm. See the maid levy guide for rates and concessions.
If you get the levy concession for someone who needs care, MOM says that person must be listed as your household member. If you left them out of the work permit application, add them in FDW eService under Menu, Account, Edit my profile, Household details.
When to use WP Online instead
MOM keeps a few card tasks in WP Online for employers: checking card delivery status, and applying for a replacement work permit card. MOM's FDW eService page also lists checking the Settling-In Programme requirement and attendance there. Use a desktop or laptop: MOM says WP Online does not support mobile browsers. Card delivery status is available every day except 3am to 4am. Replacement cards can be applied for Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm, and Saturday from 8am to 2pm, except public holidays.
