Indonesian, Myanmar and Filipino maids in Singapore: what to know

Checked 14 Oct 2026. General information, not legal advice.

Short answerIndonesia, Myanmar and the Philippines are all on MOM's list of approved source countries. Every helper must be 23 to below 50 when you apply and have at least 8 years of formal education. Filipino helpers have a SGD 650 monthly minimum set by the Philippines.

Nationality is one of the fields licensed agencies may show publicly on a helper profile, alongside skills and experience, languages, food handling preferences and previous employment history.

Searching by nationality

Many agencies work with particular source countries. Ask agencies in our directory which nationalities they currently represent.

Judge the person, not the label

Experience, languages and work history tell you more about fit than nationality alone. Ask the agency the questions that matter to your household, such as caring for elderly family members, children or pets.

MOM rules for every nationality
